Shikeith at the Museum of Glass

Group Exhibition: A Two-Way Mirror: Double Consciousness in Contemporary Glass by Black Artists
Two sculptures by Shikeith, Haint Blue Balloon, III, and Black Balloon, VI., are on view in A Two-Way Mirror: Double Consciousness in Contemporary Glass by Black Artists, on view at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA through October 27, 2024. The exhibition showcases the work of contemporary Black artists who use glass to create works that deconstruct and reframe widely held notions of social, cultural, gender, and racial identity. Glass is an apt medium for this kind of interrogation, thanks to its reflective and translucent nature.

Two members-only walkthroughs of A Two-Way Mirror led by curator Jabari Owens-Bailey will take place on Sunday, March 3, at 1 PM and 2:30 PM, at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA. Find out more on the Museum of Glass's website.
Through October 27, 2024
